Hanan Mahmud is a Venezuelan-born, self-taught artist based in New York City. Art has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. She grew up drawing and creating, but as life took her in different directions, she stepped away from art for several years.
After moving to New York, the energy and creativity of the city inspired her to reconnect with her artistic side and begin painting again.
Working primarily with acrylics, Hanan draws inspiration from surrealism, human emotions, duality, and the female figure. Her work combines femininity, sensuality, symbolism, and imagination, exploring the contrasts and emotions that shape the human experience.
